Ms María Jaén Caparrós | Board Member - Spanish Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Technological Platform (PTE HPC)

Degree on Enviromental Sciences, with a Master's Degree in Renewable Energies and the Energy Market; and Expert on R&D management of international projects and initiatives. Sixteen years of experience in managing staff and resources in the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell field. Knowledge and experience in R&D Hydrogen and Fuel Cell (HFC) projects at national and international level (preparing, managing, coordination, technical and economic justification and closing stage). Involved in the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Spanish Technological Platform (PTE-HPC), created in 2005, as Technical Secretariat until 2008. Since 2008, Manager Director at the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Experimentation National Center (CNH2), carrying out a technical and administrative role (including human resources management, supervision of the economic and administrative aspects of the CNH2, purchases, Strategic Plans, Investment Plans, R&D Projects, R&D Guidelines Plans, etc).

"The Young Scientists Division of the IAHE - a key to the future of hydrogen energy"

Mrs Chiara Fiori  |  Chair - Young Scientists Division (YSD) of the IAHE

Dr. Chiara Fiori has been involved in the Young Scientists Division of the IAHE since 2013, and she is now serving as Chair. She earned a PhD in Energy in 2015 and a Master's degree in Energy Systems Engineering at the Sapienza University of Rome. Dr. Fiori was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Automotive Research of the Ohio State University in 2013 and since 2015 she is a post-doc at the Center for Sustainable Mobility of the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. She was also involved in the 7FP European Project PlanGridEV. Her research revolves around three areas: sustainable mobility, hydrogen applications, and renewable energy systems. In particular, she focuses on: modeling and testing of innovative powertrains such as Fuel Cell, Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles and their impact assessment on electric power infrastructure and eco-routing strategies; hydrogen in submarine applications; integration of renewable energy and hydrogen storage systems in smart grid.

Ms Inmaculada Cabrera | EUREKA OFFICER. Canada & Korea Project Coordinator, Dpt. of Foreign Technology Action - Center for the Development of Industrial Technological (CDTI)

Inmaculada Cabrera is Project Officer at the Spanish Eureka Office in CDTI and is also in charge of the technological cooperation between Spain and Canada and Korea. She got her degree in Industrial Chemistry and has worked for 15 years at CDTI as Technological expert in the chemical and environmental sectors. Previously she has developed his profesional career in the private industry working for private companies like TOLSA and REPSOL.

“Invitation to the World Hydrogen Technology Convention 2017 in Prague”

Dr Ing Karin Stehlík | Czech Hydrogen Technology Platform

Ms. Karin Stehlík, née Liegl, received her master’s degree at the Technical University in Munich in mechanical engineering. Her Ph.D. thesis dealt with the degradation of high-temperature fuel cells. Now she works at CVŘ as a project manager for research in hydrogen technologies, focusing on high-temperature electrolysis. CVR is a member of the Czech Hydrogen Technology Platform (HYTEP) implemented in 2006.At HYTEP she is coordinating communication with partners from Europe. Ms. Stehlík is an alternate representative to SRG FCH JU (state representative group) within European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint undertaking. Her interest in hydrogen technologies started already during study times in the 1990ies, when human influence on climate changes and the related risks where discussed and finally led to the Kyoto protocol in 1997.

Paulo Emílio V. de Miranda graduated in Materials Engineering and obtained his doctorate at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with post-doctorates at Ecole Centrale de Paris and at Université de Paris-Sud, in France. He is Professor at Coppe-Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Head of its Hydrogen Laboratory, which has given origin to two active spin-off companies. His main research lines include the development of hybrid-electric hydrogen fuel cell buses, having demonstrated three prototypes; solid oxide fuel cells for the electrochemical conversion of methane into selected hydrocarbons and for the distributed generation of electricity using ethanol as fuel. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Materia Journal, member of the International Advisory Board of the European Fuel Cell Forum, member of the Board of Directors of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy and Brazilian representative at the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy.

Dr Prof Yoshitsugu Kojima | Director of the Institute for Advanced Materials research - Hiroshima University

Yoshitsugu Kojima is a Professor of the Institute for Advanced Materials Research (IAMR), Hiroshima University where he has been since 2006. He is also the Director of IAMR. He became a Director of the Hydrogen Energy Systems Society of Japan (HESS) in 2014. His current research projects focus on hydrogen energy carrier. He received his Ph.D. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1984. From 1984 to 2006, he worked for Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. He was selected as a Highly Cited Researcher from Thomson Reuters in 2007. During 2011-2014, he was a Distinguished Professor at the King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He was elected Co-Chair of the International Symposium on Metal-Hydrogen Systems -Fundamental and Applications- in 2012 (MH2012). He is an international steering committee member of the International Symposium on Metal-Hydrogen Systems and a scientific committee member of the International Conference on Processing & Manufacturing of Advanced Materials (THERMEC).

Mr Tejs Laustsen Jensen | Chief Executive Officer - The Danish Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells

Tejs Laustsen Jensen is the CEO of “The Danish Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells” (DPHFC). DPHFC is the national Danish Hydrogen Association, and will be hosting the World Hydrogen Energy Conference in Copenhagen in 2020. Mr. Jensen is a MSc. from the University of Copenhagen and before joining the DPHFC in 2015, he has served as personal assistant to both former Danish Minister for Growth and Business, Mr. Henrik Sass Larsen and Former Danish Prime Minister Mr. Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, has been a Danish Delegate to the United Nations General Assembly and been a Senior Policy Advisor for the largest Danish pension fund. Mr. Jensen has worked with climate, energy and transport for almost a decade and between 2009 and 2014 he served as a member of the Liaison Committee in European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). Furthermore, Mr. Jensen has served on the board of a number Danish as well as international NGO’s.

“3rd International Symposium on Catalysis for Clean Energy and Sustainable Chemistry (CCESC 2016)”

Dr Miguel Antonio Peña | Research Scientist, Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry - Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)

Ph.D. in chemistry (1990, Complutense University of Madrid). From 1990 to 1993, he was working under contract in a project of oxidative coupling of methane funded by REPSOL. At the end of this period, he got a staff position of researcher at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry (CSIC), which is his current status. In 1996-1997 he was a Visiting Scholar in the group of Prof. A. Varma, at the University of Notre Dame (USA). He is the Secretary of the Spanish Hydrogen Association, member of the Spanish Standardization Committee for Hydrogen, and advisor of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Experimentation National Center. His research interests are focused mainly in catalytic processes for clean energy production, specifically in catalytic applications of perovskite oxides (PhD dissertation), hydrogen production, fuel cell catalysts, natural gas conversion, catalytic combustion, C1 chemistry, and catalytic membrane reactors
